Welcome to Eastlake: The Heart of Lake County

Eastlake City HallWelcome to the City of Eastlake Web site. It's our intention that you will visit this site for the latest information about our community's departments, schedules, events, and just to see what some of your business and residential neighbors are doing around town. We like to think of ourselves as the 'Crown Jewel of Lake County,' but we cannot make that vision a reality by ourselves.

Our residents and our businesses are at the very heart of our community. We sincerely hope that you will use this Web site as a useful tool, so that together, we can continue to make The City of Eastlake the best community in which to live, work and raise a family in all of Lake County.

Enjoy browsing our new Web site!

Bird Watching in Eastlake

The Eastlake Power Plant next to Lake ErieLake Erie waters near the Eastlake Power Plant are a favorite bird-watching site for Northeast Ohio birders. Warm water from the plant issues from between metal-armored piers 150 yards west of the parking lot and flows eastward into Lake Erie. Birds resort to it for feeding, bobbing in the water or wheeling. Even in the coldest winters, the warm water opens a lead in the ice that lies within easy view of the parking lot. Steve Guard Memorial

The David L. Daugherty Memorial Park and Garden Area was dedicated on Monday, May 25, 2009.

This garden area was designed to commemorate the sacrifice of eight brave young men who lost their lives on December 4, 1983, in Beirut, Lebanon.

The memorial stone lists the fallen Marines along with their hometown, including Corporal David L. Daugherty of Eastlake.

There are eight rose bushes planted, one for each man. The color and type were selected for their significance. There is two of each type of rose bushes.
