Eastlake Travel U14 Soccer Team takes 1st Place in Bay Cup Challenge
In only its second year of existence, the Eastlake Ranger Soccer Club has garnered its first tournament title in as many tries.
The U15 Black Team posted four wins and one tie over Labor Day weekend at The Bay Cup Challenge in Bay Village.
The Rangers faced a difficult schedule of predominately west side teams.
The title run was paced by outstanding defensive discipline and effort from Nick Turner, Jack Gallagher, Connor Kenney and Goalkeeper Jonah Kuvin. Kuvin posted shutouts in all 5 games.
The offensive attack was lead by midfielders Jake Cendol, Bailey Kocin, Travis Picquet, Danny Cervenik (leading goal scorer), Connor Rohm, John Zivich, and John Turkalj (scored the game winning goal in overtime).
Outstanding forward play up front was provided by Liam Kenney, Devin Barcelo, Chris Mabel, and Shawn Hoffman.
Ranger Soccer Club would like to thank their parents and coaches Billy Robinson, Dave Cendol, Kyle Delpra and head coach Ty Mayer.
